The Gazing Space
Developing one’s artistic eye is crucial to understanding contemporary art. Our courses cover a broad range of areas, including design, painting, sculpture, installation, video, performance, music, philosophy, history of art, history of music, literature, and individualized support for artists. All courses are run by artists and arts professionals with a very high standing in their fields.
School of Entropy
From the fields of thermodynamics, chemistry, physics and geology, the Escola Entrópica borrows notions of unstoppable transformation in systems susceptible to contamination and exchange. This means they are always in flux. Entropy is the watchword when thinking about spaces of creation and reflection linked to art. The School’s program is centered on the tenet that there is no one ideal point for an artist or researcher to strive for in their career. Rather, there are dynamics that erode certainties, a concentrated and continuous outlay of energy that leads to experimentation. The program is made up of an Integrated Program, elective modules, and study groups.
