Our Space
With its visually striking architecture, the Ohtake Cultural Complex – two office towers, a convention center, a theater and Instituto Tomie Ohtake – has become a landmark in São Paulo’s city skyline. The creation of an unprecedented urban space, in which culture, work and leisure are seamlessly integrated and made open to the public, earned its architect, Ruy Ohtake, an award from the 9th Buenos Aires Architecture Biennale in 2001: one in a long list of achievements on his remarkable résumé.
The Institute occupies more than 7,500 square meters over two floors, with seven exhibition halls and an impressive education area, which boasts studios, lecture rooms and archive rooms. A large hall on the ground floor houses the restaurant, bookshop and design store.
