Tatiana Blass – Stage Crew
FREE ADMISSION
Curated by Ana Roman and Lahayda Mamani Poma
The Ministry of Culture, Nubank, and Instituto Tomie Ohtake present Tatiana Blass – Stage Crew, the artist’s first institutional exhibition in São Paulo.
The show brings together around 50 works produced between 2008 and 2026, including paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, and a group of previously unseen works, and offers an overview of the artist’s body of work and investigation into matter, space, light, and time.
The exhibition’s title refers to the stage manager, the person who works behind the scenes to make the performance possible without ever taking center stage. Building on this idea, the show draws a parallel between the artist’s practice and theatrical logic, presenting works that shift attention from the finished result to the processes behind each image. Though painting is her starting point, it expands into different mediums—including sculpture, installation, video, and performance—and materials such as glass, bronze, wax, ceramics, and others.
Stage Crew is realized by the Ministry of Culture, through the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), and Instituto Tomie Ohtake. The show is sponsored by Nubank, the institutional patron of Instituto Tomie Ohtake, and supported by Galeria Albuquerque Contemporânea.
